Visit one of the world’s most iconic cities

London is officially the UK’s most visited destination, and for good reason. With a history dating back centuries, plus some of the world’s most famous museums and galleries, it offers a huge number of things to see and do.

The UK’s capital is steeped in history. Visit The Tower of London and see the Queen’s famous crown jewels. Alternatively, visit the British Museum, and discover some of the world’s most prized treasures, including the Rosetta Stone and the Parthenon sculptures. The Natural History Museum is another must-see attraction, with an astonishing collection of exhibits relating to the natural world. If you’re fascinated by the royal family, book a tour round Buckingham Palace, or have your photo taken by iconic Big Ben.

London is one of the world’s shopping meccas, and boasts everything from high street stores to quirky boutique shops. For a taste of traditional London shopping culture, visit some of its most famous department stores, such as Harrods, Harvey Nichols and Fortnum & Mason. Take a stroll down bustling Oxford Street, or visit the lively markets at Brick Lane and Camden.

There are plenty of museums and galleries in London; including the National Gallery, Madame Tussauds and The London Eye. Children will love the interactive displays at The Science Museum, and art lovers will appreciate the impressive collection at The Tate Modern. In the evening, book a seat at one of the city’s many theatres and watch a Shakespeare play or modern musical.

London is home to some of the country’s top football teams, including Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. Here, you’ll also find Wembley Stadium, plus Wimbledon Museum – which is a must-see for tennis fans.

In addition to the shops, museums and attractions, you’ll also find something going on every night of the year – from music festivals to literary events. With so much to see and do, it’s no wonder most people keep coming back to the city to explore more!
